It's our Earth 2, from Kyoto to Copenhague

The "It's our Earth" exhibition will be back in September 2009, this updated version, aims to sensitise the public to the challenges of durable development.

This time, the focus will be on the consequences of our frenetic consumption: global warming. In December 2009, the next steps of the Kyoto protocol will be decided in Copenhagen.

It's our Earth 2

From Kyoto to Copenhagen funded by the Swedish Presidency of the European Union will be a new exhibition closely linked to the well established first edition.

The visitor will be able to (re)visit the elements of the first edition. This part focused on the mechanisms of climate change, the reasons for certain species becoming extinct, the history of our planet and the way humans consume its resources.

The entirely new second part, will explain how fragile Earth’s biodiversity is, before diving deep into the topic of climate change. The visitor will discover the politics involved, the theory behind the greenhouse effect, why it is so important and what are its consequences. The Copenhagen agreement’s objectives will be explained, as well as the position of powerful nations and lobbies. The exhibition will also show what we can do to combat climate change on a personal level.

Of course many world famous artists will take part, revealing their own vision of climate change throughout the exhibition. Kids won’t feel left out due to the surprising amount of interactive displays designed specifically for young children.

This 2.500 m² exhibition aims to sensitise the masses by offering an intriguing layout, both fun and instructive, for adults and children alike, all in a perfect setting: the Tour&Taxis site, running alongside the Brussels Port canal.
