In a district undergoing fundamental change, few remember that the Berlaymont used to be a convent where the canonesses would hold their infrequent conclaves. God alone knows whether His flock frequented the neighbouring wine store. We know, on the other hand, that the Atelier Européen, the charming restaurant that has replaced it, is blessed with divine approval.

Good news, the love of wine has survived, with a mainly French connotation plus a touch of the New World. As far as the dishes are concerned, away from the madding crowd, you can choose between the seasonal suggestions, the self-service cold buffet and some well-confected set meals.
